Pencas

Pencas is a place to go to when you want to bring friends to taste local Panamanian food. There are other better places for this but the drive to get there is way too far. Pencas is also located at the beginning of the Amador Causeway making it a bit nicer. The ceviche de Corvina was excellent and fresh. My main dish was the whole fried corvina that also was quite good, but a bit on the small side. The food is good, but the service needs serious improvement. The street noise is another problem that makes the dining experience a bit less enjoyable.

I went there with my wife & daughter and another family of 3 that came to Panama from the USA. They wanted to eat some typical Panamanian food. I have been to Pencas before and always enjoyed their food. We were not disappointed at all. We ordered all had the ceviche de corvina, which was very good. The 6 main dishes were Whole Fried Corvina and Corvina al Allijo. Both were done perfectly. The side dishes were also very tipico de Panama: Yucca Frita, Patacones, & Papitas. All were very good. This is not gourmet fare but it is quite delicious. The whole fried fish was eaten with our hands. It made the dinner that much more enjoyable.

Es un restaurante con un menú variado de cómodas nacionales con un buen precio. Su servicio es bueno y su ambiente agradable.

Después de muchos años volví. El ambiente, pues bastante bueno, buena música y decente. La comida, deditos de mozarella y de pescado de entrada, bien. Sangría sin hielo, mal. Plato fuerte: Corvina al ajillo y puré, bien. Mi molestia sería la atención. La mesera solo fue a tomar el pedido y jamás volvió, y aún así te cobran la propina sugerida en la cuenta. Solamente por el pésimo servicio pensaría bien antes de volver. Hoy en día el servicio es un factor tan o más importante que los demás.

El lugar necesita una renovacion, ya que esta igual que hace años. En la comida la cantidad esta bien pero la calidad es baja. La elaboraciin podria mejorar.
