Had been awhile since we've visited Muh Panama - since we were in the mood for a good meat eating experience, we decided to pay them a visit. Located on Calle 50, adjacent to the Rey Supermarket, it is easy to find and in a good location. From an approach perspective, my only "beef" with the location is the restrictive parking - no fault of their own, simply a function of the location (not a dealbreaker by any stretch).
Upon entry, the decor is comfortable and "casual chic", with music playing at a reasonable level and comfortably cool. It took about 1 minute for us to be greeted, however, we were able to seat ourselves within seconds of entry and a server was with us shortly after. We were not looking to spend a lot of time out as we were on the road all day, so we skipped the appetizer and went straight to ordering the main course.
My wife had the Muh Burger - cooked well done (as she likes it), the meat was clearly fresh as were the garnishes (onion/tomato/lettuce). Served on fresh baked buns, this is a can't miss burger experience that is miles ahead of any fast food offering.
Our 7yr old had his usual chicken fingers w/fries, which he actually enjoyed as he has become a bit of a snob as it relates to his favorite dish. Four large chicken breast pieces were crisply fried (not overdone) offered with Heinz ketchup on the side and a fresh batch of fries. Thumbs up from our boy.
I had the half rack pork ribs w/asparagus and fried yuca with chimichurri. This was a well balanced dish - the ribs were meaty and cooked to a medium firmness that I appreciated as it retained the flavor of the meat without "doctoring" it with the sauce, as many fast casual places do. The sauce is served on the side, allowing you to apply as much as you prefer. A good piece of meat should not need to be disguised with sauce to taste good, and these ribs were great without much of it. The asparagus were cooked to firm perfection, served with a bit of rock salt over a vinaigrette sauce and the fried yuca was a pleasant surprise - fresh cut, fried in clean oil with dabs of chimichurri on each of the 5 pieces - very tasty and a good complement to the ribs and fresh asparagus.
Overall, the service was prompt and efficient, ordering was a breeze and the quality of the food was excellent. We rate this as a 5 Star dining experience and highly recommend for all to visit.
