Segundo Muelle (Plaza Causeway)
This was such a treat for Sunday lunch. I had the traditional ceviche and my guest and I shared the bañana crispy dessert. The ceviche was delicious and the wait staff was very attentive. We dined on the outside patio with a lovely view of the marina. The restaurant is located inside of the Plaza causeway which houses several other restaurants. It is my understanding that you can order from any of the menus. I look forward to returning to mix and match menu items.
Planticeria (San Francisco)
This is a very cozy vegan restaurant. I had the lunch special which included a half sandwich, soup, and drink. I had the club sandwich and the onion soup. The menu also included other appealing options. I also tried the Vegan turtle cheese cake which was delicious. overall, this was a great meal and a excellent option if you are looking for vegan dishes. The restaurant is located in a cute space not far from Parque Omar off Via Porras.
Los Venezolanos
If you are looking for a quick cheap meal, this is a great option. They offer an assortment of empanadas already made and have a menu with many options. I have eaten here twice and was pleased both times. I had the vegan arepa and later the cazon ( baby shark) arepa. Both were very fresh and delicious. I have tried shark empanadas in the past at another restaurant and was mildly impressed; however, their version was a bit more flavorful. If like arepas, you will most likely approve of the choices available here. They also won me over because they had my favorite juice available- Jugo de Maracuyá ( passionate fruit). I haven’t been able to find it in many places this time of the year. The restaurant is small and clean and has wifi. It has a few outdoor tables that provide a nice place to people watch and observe the energy of the neighborhood.
Rakki House
I have tried the bubble tea here on multiple occasions and haven’t been disappointed. Today, I tried the Takoyaki appetizer with my tea. These were 6 little fried balls of deliciousness and octopus. They were quite tasty. The place has two levels and has really chill coffee shop vibe. They sell pastries as well as other yummy snacks.
Natural Spice
This place was a plesant and welcomed surprise. For anyone looking for a nice vegan or vegetarian option for lunch, be sure to check out this place. I had one of the vegan burgers with papaya “bacon”. it was a homemade burger with beans and lentils. The chef explained the menu to me and provided me with several options on the menu. I am looking forward to trying more items on the menu since I think they are all made to order.
Fonda Lo Que Hay
This was my first time visiting Fonda Lo Que Hay. I went there with no expectations and left a huge fan. The meal was one of the best meals that I’ve had in a long time and one of the best meals that I’ve had in Panamá. We had the Corvina, the tuna and the Concolon con Sexy. The service and ambience were great as well. I look forward to returning soon.
