D'oh!!!!!!!! I just realised that I wrote a review for this place thinking it was the other Queso [fill in the blank for name] place....sorry can't mention the name or they send jackbooted scary IT people round to your house to drink all your weak lemon drinks and eat your biscuits until you comply....well...this is more of the same...but we think that Chela is better....sorry Queso [fill in the blank for name]....that's just the way it is...but still a great job feeding the migrating Panamanian hordes...peace.

If you're heading down to the beaches...Coronado etc...and the hunger pangs are kicking in...and you want to be quick and eat/drink some authentic local produce rather than hitting McShit/CackDonalds etc, then give this a go. They do very good milk related products...queso blanco (local white cheese...as an aside this is great sliced and grilled...comes out a little like haloumi cheese), chicheme and cheese empanadas. They also have some great leche agria (buttermilk/off milk with sugar)...personally I can't stand the stuff but my wife who loves it says this is one of the best places for it. They also have some decent cured local beef (in like a tomato marinade...I find it a bit rubbery/chewy myself but its still good) and sausages...plus hojaldras (Panamanian fried bread...which I really like as its super chewy and slightly sweet). If they have passion fruit juice then get some, its also good. They get super busy on weekends when people are coming/going to the beach but service is pretty quick, and its cheap. Widen your horizons and try this place sometime.

If you appreciate good architecture/interior design and beautiful landscaping then this is an absolute must place to stay at in the area. You can imagine famous rockstars/celebs staying here to get away from the world. It's not cheap...I think around $200 low season and up to $400 plus in high season...but its an experience. I believe the architect (Gilles St. Gilles) built the house originally for his wife and then later turned it into a hotel...or maybe that's just a romantic myth...but you can imagine its true with the attention to detail put into the design and execution. I can't tell you how amazing the rooms are...one with a domed brick roof, all with amazing bathrooms...and if you can stretch to the upstairs "suite" you will feel like a King and Queen staying there. The grounds are beautifully designed and tended with mature trees and plants and a far off view of the ocean. There is a fantastic pool where the simple but intricate floor design from the covered area flows into it creating a beautiful connection between indoor/outdoor using meticulously laid beautiful tiny black river stones. When I visited for dinner once the menu was fixed and it was decent...but you were paying more for the surroundings. I would go here for a romantic getaway or with a group of sophisticated couples for a decadent weekend away close to a remote beach. Priceless.

Worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. Plus, the owner should not be allowed to keep dogs (puppies) chained up in a disgusting backyard behind the restaurant and beat them. I'd like to beat the crap out of him...when my wife tried to confront him after hearing dogs crying he ran away like a coward. Avoid this place like the plague.

If you're heading into the interior and getting hungry after an hours drive from Panama City then this is one of the better places to stop and eat local food. They do some nice natural fruit juices and the food is pretty good. Service is also ok/good. I always get the apanado "breaded" chicken and ask for the mushroom sauce which normally comes with the grilled chicken. The breaded chicken is huge and the sauce is cheesy and great. Add some rice/yucca frita/vegetables and you won't feel hungry for a while...and it beats stopping at one of the strategically placed Macky D's. I always had my dogs in the car with me and they didn't mind me walking around the property with them.

Another one of the better places to stop at if you are going into the interior past Coronado. They serve tapas, pizzas and local food amongst other things. The tapas are good. The pizzas are awful...especially the smoked salmon one with goats cheese. I always get the tapas now. Service is good. Plenty of parking and a decent sized grass area at the back if you need to walk your dogs.

Fantastic burger! Not only the best burger in the Azueros, but quite possibly in Panama. The owner makes up his own meat mix and creates a juicy, meaty and well seasoned patty that holds together well. The bun is also well chosen and doesn't fall apart. Fries get a dusting of cayenne pepper and are nice and crunchy. The wings are also great. Add in some ice cold beer and you're looking at lunch/dinner for champions!! My favourite?...go for the cheeseburger and add caramalised onions. If you're in Pedasi, you have to try this place at least once...I think you'll be back multiple times...enjoy!

The owners of this place, along with being the chef and waiter, are wonderful people who understand how to create simple fresh and great Italian food. Additionally, you will find it very hard to find better service than this in any restaurant in Panama. They serve very few choices of pasta each night (I think its 3), but they change the menu daily/regularly. The salad to start is fantastic...but huge...and comes with delicious roasted vegetables and home-made ciabatta. They have some decent wines, a great cocktail called "dark and stormy" (!!!)...and if you finish off with their tirimisu you will thank me. These guys go the extra mile and it shows...a must visit restaurant in Pedasi.

One of the most beautiful views and settings for a restaurant in Panama. It's a great boutique hotel with a good restaurant. If you're not staying there then go early enough to enjoy the view. I think the chef is Peruvian, and the food is very good and international. It's not that easy to find...but well worth the effort...and now the road from Limon to the Azueros Project is fully paved its an easy and pleasant drive for 80%. However, once in the Azueros Project, be prepared for a bumpy ride...but go for it...maybe adventurous for some gringos...but not particularly for Panamanians. I recommend staying there for the weekend...and keep going past it and the Prince of Lichtensteins amazing house to the beautiful beach at the end of the road (sometimes good surfing). A great weekend getaway...with a great restaurant...good times will happen.

The owner and chef is from Spain, and apart from being a very good chef, he is also a very nice man. Food is a mix of Spanish/European and local. With some notice, he does a fantastic paella. He also does the BEST chicken cordon bleu (chicken stuffed with ham and cheese) I have ever tasted. The salad to start is a great option and the portion sizes are very good. All the food is very fresh, very well prepared and looks nice on the plate...and most importantly tastes great and is always consistent! If you have room for desert then you must try his home-made cake which is to die for. This is another one of the must visit restaurants in Pedasi.
